HUGO BORIM

Meet Hugo Borim, a Brazilian native living in Ireland for over 10 years. Hugo’s story is one of resilience in the face of adversity and a commitment to empowering others through the art of jiu jitsu. Hugo faced significant challenges early in life due to undiagnosed ADHD and dyslexia, but finding jiu jitsu allowed him to leverage the benefits of his neurodivergence ultimately resulting in a successful career as both a fighter and a coach.

Hugo an IBJJF World & European champion is the proud owner and founder of 011GRPL. At 011GRPL he and his team apply the mental and physical benefits of jiu jitsu to the corporate world offering tailored solutions that improve employee focus, reduce stress and promote resilience.

In addition, Hugo is passionate about helping others to overcome the challenges they face due to neurodivergence. He has developed a programme that enables his students to regulate their emotions, improve their physical fitness and equip them to navigate the daily challenges of life as a neurodivergent person.

Hugo has many years of experience coaching and mentoring students of all ages and enjoys nothing more than imparting his extensive knowledge on those that wish to improve their overall quality of life.

Having once been the victim of bullying and name-calling, I empathize with those who feel uncoordinated and deem themselves unintelligent. However, my journey through the rigorous training of jiu jitsu has taught me that everyone possesses their own unique approach - mine wasn’t flawed, it was simply distinct. As a world champion, I now recognize my calling to assist neurodivergent children, like myself, in discovering their individual path to success.
